Public review of the 2 nd
version of the CarbonFix Standard finished
From the end of February to the
beginning of April, the public could respond with critics, remarks and
suggestions to the second version of the CarbonFix Standard. In total 32
in-depth reactions were submitted that are currently being reviewed by the technical board and implemented in the CarbonFix Standard. CarbonFix would like to thank
all contributors for their efforts to further improve the quality of our work.
Second version of the CFS ready by mid May
The official release of the second
version of the CarbonFix Standard is planned for May. Some of the new
features in this second version are:
- The calculations
methods on baseline, leakage and VER’s are further improved and illustrated
with clear
examples.
- Every indicator in
the standard is accompanied with a symbol for the project's developer,
validation body and certification body. This symbol tells how the evidence for
the indicator has to be presented and how it will be controlled.
- For the written
evidence and descriptions that some indicators require, the second version of
the Standard has a number of templates available, in which project developers
can easily enter the required information in MS word.
This second version is again a large
step forward in the transparency and practicability of the CarbonFix Standard.
Website getting restructured
The website CarbonFix.info is the
backbone of the CarbonFix Standard. The website will be restructured by the
end of May, so that it will be easier for different target groups to navigate it. Customers who have a CO2code can directly enter it and
trace their CO2 in Google Maps. Brokers and other buyers are able to purchase VERfutures directly and access project information as part of the website. Project
developers, from their side, can directly encounter the necessary information
on how to run for CarbonFix certification in a section of the website which
includes the criteria of the Standard, guidelines and templates. So, keep an
eye on www.CarbonFix.info for all the information you need. Whoever you are. |
